It’s been too long since I posted an update here on Vincent the Lagotto pup. I’ve been posting updates on my Facebook page, but I haven’t made it over here. My bad. 😛
Vincent has made tremendous progress, and so has mom Tia.
Six months ago, Vincent was so terrified of the world that he tried to crawl and hide under my car when he realized his barking and lunging wasn’t driving me away.
Three months ago, he was still reacting to people and other animals – including Glimmer – and he had to be kept at distance while we worked him through his fear.
Today – after a whole lot of incredibly hard work from him and his family – this is Vincent enjoying other dogs and even playing with a Cane Corso pup.

Vincent still struggles with nervousness around people and other animals, but over the past six months, he has learned to look to and focus on his handler in those moments, thus making much better choices much more often. He has even changed his perception of me, greeting me with excitement and affection rather than fear. For an idea about how far he’s progressed, check out my YouTube channel.
Vincent’s ongoing transformation from fearful panic to calmer confidence is proof that time, patience, commitment, consistency, and perseverance can and does work. As I said, he still has a ways to go in his rehabilitation, but he and his mom have come a hell of a long way from where they were six months ago. I could not be more proud of them – especially, Tia, whose confidence has grown in leaps and bounds since we started working together.
Have a wonderful day, and remember to stay calm and lead on. You’ve got this!
Gotta love a success story in the making…once his confidence is higher, he will be a bundle of joy and as playful as he should be.. Great work my friend, and sounds like some great work from his owners as well.

Right? I’m so proud of him and his humans. They’ve all worked really hard to get to this point; it makes my heart so happy for them. ♥
