Weekend Training

Did you know? If you live in a different province and you need help with your dog but you can’t find it, I offer weekend training workshops.

I arrive on Friday, meet with you and your dog at your home to assess your situation and set up a plan of action to help your dog. Saturday and Sunday, for the entire day each day, we work together, and on Monday, I head for home.

Saturday and Sunday, we work together in time increments of 1 hour. We do this three to four times each day – that’s a total of 6 to 8 lessons in two days. This helps your dog get on the right track – or, get back on the right track – sooner while simultaneously helping you become the strong, confident leader your dog needs.

Why only 1-hour increments, you may ask? Well, we’re teaching the dog to start consciously thinking about what they need to do in given situations, instead of defaulting to the unwanted behaviors he or she is presenting. At the same time, we’re asking the dog to trust us, to show him or her that we have those situation under control. All of this requires a tremendous amount of your dog’s mental energy, and that’s exhausting. Most dogs can work hard like that for about an hour, and then they need some down time to decompress and start processing the changes taking place.

Now, under the current federal mandates, I am not allowed to travel by plane or train. However, while it may take me several days [depending on which province you live in], I’m happy to make the drive so that I can help you and your dog.

If you live in another province and need help with your dog but you can’t find help, don’t despair. Call me! I can be reached every day by phone at 587-582-2272 between 9am and 10pm. If you don’t reach me directly, leave me a voicemail and I’ll return your call as quickly as I can.

Have a great day and a great week, and remember: Stay calm and lead on.
