Princess: Week 4 End

The past four weeks with Princess have been an adventure. She has challenged us and she has taught us, and she has revealed her beautiful spirit in too many ways to count. Over the past 10 days, I have been very ill and unable to do as much work with her as I had planned. To my great surprise, Princess stayed by my side throughout the entire ordeal and tried to help me in any way she could. She truly is a remarkable young dog.

Princess went back to Tails of the Misunderstood yesterday afternoon. Despite the cacophony that arose from a group of other dogs when we walked into the shop, Princess did an awesome job of keeping her excitement in check. She was clearly intimidated by all the sound, but instead of reacting, she kept her cool, ignored the barking pups, and sniffed at all the things on the nearby shelves. When I got some treats out so I could show the director what I had managed to accomplish with her before I got ill, Princess did a fantastic job of staying focused on me in spite of a small pack of loudly barking young pups in a portable pen behind her.

I am happy to report that Princess has a potential forever family waiting to adopt her. She is already a wonderful, loving, playful, nurturing, compassionate young dog; with the right family, she’s going to mature into an incredible, lifelong companion.

At this time, I would like to extend my thanks to Tails of the Misunderstood Canine Rescue Society for entrusting sweet Princess to me for the past four weeks. It’s been my pleasure and privilege to have such an amazing young dog to teach and to learn from, and I wish her a life of love and happiness.
