Trust and Confidence

Happy Thursday!  I’m happy to report that Glimmer’s confidence has been growing in leaps and bounds. Yesterday, of her own volition, shedid something that completely caught me off guard:

Even a month ago, she would have tried to run away from the machinery and the rock pile. And, as you saw in the video, she was nervous about it. But thanks to the agility work I’ve been doing with her, her confidence has grown and her trust in me has increased significantly. I asked her to sit in front of the rock pile; she made the decision on her own to climb it.  That’s what happens when your dog has confidence and they trust you.

Tomorrow morning, Glimmer is going to a nature area for a photo shoot with our trainer and her husband, who is a professional animal photographer. It’s going to be stressful for her because it’s at the other end of the city, and she has very high car anxiety. But, we’ll be there early so that she has time to explore a little and release some of her tension before they arrive.

Have a great day, everyone, and remember: Stay calm and lead on.
