Yesterday was a very busy day for Lacey. She explored more of the hotel grounds, met more new people, made friends with a young puppy, and more. She met more of the hotel staff – one of which works from an electric wheelchair. Lacey was a little uncertain about the chair at first, but Brian helped her with that by offering her lots of affection when she came near him. It was wonderful to see.
The only issue of concern right now is that Lacey is barking when someone comes to the door. She cannot practice that behaviour. The hotel staff have been very understanding so far, but the behaviour must stop. I will be working on this for the remainder of our time here, and then continuing the work after we get back home. Lacey will be staying with us for another week.
Lacey has been doing a phenomenal job with meeting new people calmly and respectfully. With the exception of her barking, she’s been listening really well, checking in often while we’re on a walk, and looking to me for guidance. She’s showing trust, and that is awesome.
We’re off to go for another walk now. The sun is out, the ground is drying after last night’s rain, and it’s going to be a great day to be outdoors. Have a great day, and remember to stay calm and lead on.
