In Recovery

Good Monday to all.  Apologies for the lack of updates; I’ve been quite sick and I’m only just now starting to feel more like myself.  Courtesy of my husband, here are a couple of pictures of Glimmer doing her job. To the casual observer, she just looks like she’s sleeping. But in actuality, she’s monitoring my breathing and making sure I’m not having trouble while I’m sleeping.

During this illness, Glimmer has woken me more than once because I wasn’t breathing right.  My husband told me that she alerted him to trouble twice. Both times, he came to check on me, and he found me struggling to breathe. I was running a very high fever and I was in such a deep sleep that I wasn’t aware at all that I was having trouble. If Glimmer hadn’t been monitoring me, and if she hadn’t alerted him when she did, the outcome could have been very different.

In other news, Lacey is ready for her CGN trial.  We expect to have her tested within the next few weeks.  While we wait for that, we’re going to be working her on her basics, and integrating some new, more refined physical-support tasks. She is doing a fantastic job helping her autistic charge, but she does need to learn how to be more effective, more quickly. So, she’s going to be starting on some new lessons – hopefully, this week.
